How do we overthrow a dictator in 2035?

Debat - EU og udenrigspolitik - Teknologi og digitalisering

How can oppressed populations protest effectively in an age where technology can both mobilize the masses and oppress them? New technologies make it possible to organize and carry out rebellions against autocratic regimes, but they also give dictators new tools for censorship and surveillance. Are we witnessing the end of new democratic movements or will we see a new wave of democratization made possible by technological advances? What role does Denmark play in this context, and what role do we want Denmark to play? Can Denmark develop technology that empowers activists in countries like Russia and Iran? In this new industry, can we become leading talent from around the world and create the framework and capital to develop solutions that strengthen democratic forces globally?
