Et Folkemøde for alle
Folkemødet skal være for alle - og alle stemmer skal have mulighed for at blive hørt i den demokratiske dialog. Det er ambitionen. Derfor indgik Foreningen Folkemødet i 2023 et fem-årigt samarbejde med Bevica Fonden. Projektet har til formål at skabe et mere inkluderende og ligeværdigt Folkemøde, hvor deltagelse sker på lige vilkår uanset kropslige eller kognitive forudsætninger med henblik på at styrke det demokratiske fællesskab.
Samarbejdet tager afsæt i principperne for universelt design; idéen om, at miljøer, produkter og services skal favne så mange mennesker som muligt. På Folkemødet omsættes det blandt andet til tilgængelige installationer, tegnsprogstolkning af partiledertaler og en stillezone for alle dem, der har brug for at trække sig tilbage og få ro til hoved og krop.
A People’s Meeting for all
The People’s Meeting is for everybody; an open forum where every voice will have the possibility to be heard in democratic dialogue. That is our ambition. For this reason the People’s Meeting Association joined forces with the Bevica Foundation in 2023 for a five-year period. The project’s intent is to foster the most inclusive and equal People’s Meeting possible, with optimal conditions for participation, regardless of physical or cognitive capacities, thereby enhancing the spirit of democratic community.
The point of departure for the collaboration with the Bevica Foundation is the principle of universal design; the idea that environments, products and services must embrace as many people as possible. These principles are brought to life at the People’s Meeting in numerous ways; accessible installations, sign language interpreters for speeches by party leaders and a quiet zone for all who have need of a time-out for body and soul, to name but a few.
Gør det usynlige synligt
Som en del af tilgængelighedsindsatsen samarbejder Folkemødet med Solsikkeprogrammet. Her kan deltagere, der lever med et usynligt handicap eller diagnose, bære en grøn solsikkesnor som signal til omgivelserne om, at deltageren kan have brug for ekstra tid, tålmodighed eller støtte. Snoren udleveres gratis i Folkemødets infocenter og på Camp Ung Agenda, og er med til at skabe forståelse og respekt i mødet mellem mennesker.
As part of our inclusion effort, The People’s Meeting collaborates with the Sunflower program. Participants, who live with an invisible disability or diagnosis can wear a green sunflower chord as a signal to others that there may be a need for extra time, patience or support. Sunflower chords will be handed out for free at the People’s Meeting’s Info center and at Camp Young Agenda, contributing to an air of understanding and respect when people meet one another.
